That's the whole thing, this is at heart absolutely a tone argument ON BOTH SIDES and a "virtue signaling" argument ON BOTH SIDES *Nobody* is dispassionately evaluating policy statements, it's all "I'm angry and I want someone else who's angry"

The other thing about tone moderation is that the requirements have a habit of expanding such that *any* articulation of certain criticisms is "improper tone" in one way or another. Or, as you moderate it more, people will just lie and insist you're an angry mob regardless.
