If the difference between Bernie and any other candidate is tens of thousands of lives lost each year to lack of health coverage then it's not a good thing at all that Bernie doesn't pander Bernie should be pandering like that blood will be on his hands if he doesn't

It's just so backwards People act like unwillingness to tell white lies, smile and shake hands with assholes, couch everything in polite fake language, etc is proof you're serious about what you believe To me it's proof that you aren't

If the election were a game that didn't matter there would be value in losing with style, losing but staying honest and true to yourself, losing but getting your message out there If it's a matter of life and death then all forms of losing are just losing

Yep. It's one of the reasons why trying to reach out to GOP voters and even Trump voters isn't by itself a bad idea, it's just that reaching out to them is pretty much impossible and also would potentially require moral compromise.

And even so- feelings are in fact "real," bc someone's stated goals are only as good as your trust in their motivations to do them or ability to achieve them, which can be undermined by how they behave socially- yknow where we make such judgments 99% of the time in actual life
