I think the single biggest problem with Extremely Online activism is earnestly believing RTs and likes on this or any website is a measurement of enthusiasm or lack of enthusiasm in the real world

Like for me it was never not being able to imagine *liking* Biden It was the enthusiasm gap - not being able to imagine people *caring* about Biden "Who the hell gets hyped to vote for Joe Biden as though he's something other than a lazy default choice" Apparently lotsa people

It's this cloisteredness that's a serious issue for drawing an accurate map of the world and making good decisions based on them All the takes "Who cares about 'Bernie's not a Democrat'? Who actually identifies as a Democrat? Who has strong emotions about the D party label?"
