I think it's highly unlikely that the convention "steals the nomination" from whoever has the lead in delegates (they've never done it before, even with George McGovern, the Bernie of the 70s) But his supporters don't want an image of Bernie begging for votes and compromising

Even though showing his willingness and ability to do that is exactly what the Bernie skeptics want in order to be able to get behind him, even if (especially if) it involves no major policy changes Honestly that's where I am re: supporting Bernie

Yeah, it's purely about "Sanders Showing Them All gives me personally a win in an unhappy world."

It's interesting that you think a brokered convention, where superdelegates come into play and all pledged delegates are free to change their votes of their own accord, will ever award Sanders a majority if there's a single centrist hack still willing to accept the nomination.

The superdelegates have historically *never* gotten behind someone other than the plurality leader going into the convention, including when that person was the progressive (Mondale) and the runner-up was the centrist (Hart)

No matter what, we just cannot do 2016 again with the booing and the anger. I don’t CARE if you don’t want to “bend the knee” or whatever, right now ALL of our egos need to take a HUGE BACK SEAT to building an energetic campaign that unites going into November.pic.twitter.com/37sF2nOXSk

Dude nobody cares if there's a brokered convention and Bernie keeps the nom (assuming he has majority going in ofc), they worry that as more and more stuff piles up about the establishment not wanting him that the superdelegates would vote against it
