I still can't believe that perhaps one of the most played and over rereleased games of the last decade is a game with two factions you can join and one of them is just literal white supremacists named after an ethnic term Nazis use for themselves, and the other is the evil empire

see if this tweet were from anyone else on the entire internet i'd be obligated by Imperial duty to get all huffy about you calling the Empire evil, but you twote it, so I know it's a term of affection and salute your patriotism. Praise to Akatosh and all the Divines.

I mean, we can debate whether they're the most evil faction (again, I always support them), but the game opens with them about to decapitate you for illegal immigration

can that which has been written in an Elder Scroll truly be said to be the responsibility of any man or mer? they who sentenced the Dragonborn were bound by fate, just as those who sentenced the Nerevarine.

Out of tragic obligation I have to point out now that the Thalmor conspiracy is obviously antisemitism (not joking, sadly)

I think I'd contest that, if only because the Altmer are occupying such a very -specific- place in the setting - the Thalmor is literally and specifically a conspiracy to destroy the world, every JRPG has one of those and /those/ aren't considered antisemitic, right?

The more... ethnic such a conspiracy comes off the closer it is to actual Nazi beliefs
