You can argue against the specific way to run a contested convention till you're blue in the face but that doesn't change that simply giving the nomination to someone with a minority of delegates goes against the whole point of the whole process

As I've noted though, the candidates do literally nothing to prove they can win over other candidate's supporters. It's not like we have a couple of debates and a run off vote in the event of no majority. At best the candidates prove they can win over the other candidates.
