Its not racism...people are just afraid of getting sick.

Most racism is justified in the racist's mind by just being afraid of something

So if I’m afraid of skinheads does that mean I hate white people?

People aren’t eating Chinese food because they are afraid of catching a virus as far fetched as that might be. They aren’t racist they’re scared. If they never ate Chinese food because they don’t like Chinese people that’s racist.

That's not what racism means and that's an impossible distinction to make

Do you really think most anti-Black racists will say outright "I just hate Black people for no reason and I'm proud of it" instead of "I'm afraid of crime" or whatever

No but the people who stopped eating Chinese food stopped for a specific reason at a specific time. It’s the virus not the ethnicity that’s the problem

Okay and that's still irrational and it's still racist Look, people who *actually are* "afraid of crime" are still racist, racism doesn't mean you privately think "Muahaha I hate Black people" and then lie about it, it's still racism if you think you have a good reason

The problem with your analogy is your associating crime with black peoples. Every race and gender commits crime. This is a specific virus that happened to emanate in China. People who loved Chinese foot last month but stopped eating it now aren’t racist

And the virus doesn't magically teleport into new hosts via their bloodline of descent, so this fear is still totally irrational, therefore racist

I mean, if you were ordering delivery from that quarantined province in China, you still would be on shaky ground. But not ordering from the family restaurant that's been in your downtown for the past 7 years because of VIRUS is flat out racist.
