The fact that the BL universe hasn't just *become* part of the Supergirl universe but *always was* part of the same universe with a whole history everyone but our main characters remembers is a pretty big problem! One I'm sure they'll address just as thoughtfully as the comicshttps://twitter.com/Nymphomachy/status/1232796712466448385 …

Yeah like wasn't the president in Supergirl supposed to be Lynda Carter or something, this embodiment of American heroism, and the new episodes of Black Lightning are like "all US Presidents are aware of ongoing Tuskeegee experiments"

Also, uh, while the Henshaw-led D.E.O. might have been more openly fascist than it is now it's more than a bit odd that it and the A.S.A. could exist in the same country and be so ideologically disparate

it's that the DEO is now a Luthor Corp PMC while the ASA is the sort of Argus precursor

also to the shows' credit there have been some stabs at inter-series continuity, like Kara Danvers handles Batwoman's coming out interview, I really liked that, but yeah Black Lightning is the onion in the ointment, like just the fact no other heroes are involved with this SIEGE

I joke about it being par for the course in the real world but yes it does in fact reflect quite badly on the characters from the other shows

Cue the famous comic panel with the guy yelling at Green Lantern "What have you done for the BLACK skins"
