I'm reading this 94 Batman story, Going Sane, and it got me to thinking that whenever Joker starts to geek out about old comedians he likes (a shtick of his he revisits occasionally) they're all WASPy as fuck, like you never hear about Joker finding Moms Mabley hilarious

Remember how in the BTAS Gray Ghost episode the whole plot happens because he needs to find someone who owns the original master reel of the show just to find out what happens in the plot of one of the episodes

I imagine even in the early 90s he could've resorted to just getting on Usenet and asking around but I guess they didn't want a scene of him logging into http://alt.tv .cartoons and trying to ingratiate himself with the community

The Baby Doll episode doesn’t explicitly have that but the key clues are found by Robin watching old an old TV show on the Batcomputer. So either that or he invented Netflix off screen.

Yeah well apparently her show was a great deal more popular and the bootlegs are all over the binaries newsgroups Whereas Bruce Wayne is like one of less than 15,000 adult men who have strong feelings about the Gray Ghost

It's kind of interesting because it's not really a direct analogue of the 60s Batman show, it's not like that show was ever actually unpopular or forgotten

Before reruns on the Family Channel it kinda was and Adam West went through tough times before nostalgia kicked in
