That's exactly what the French Revolutionaries did (extended the week from seven to ten days while still only giving one day off) Even with the final five-day leap week of revolutionary holidays at the end of the year, you come out behind

They reduced the number of guaranteed days off from 52 to 41, they made everyone work an additional 11 days just because they argued it made more aesthetic sense No wonder the Revolution was betrayed
