I don't think it's a reason to be against healthcare reform, let's be clear, but it is really really obvious that a ton of the fuel TERFs in the UK are cynically using to power their movement is the electorate's sense of "ownership" over the NHShttps://twitter.com/ADubiousPronoun/status/1231374403725856768 …

True. On the other hand, Republicans here do that even when the evidence is thin or nonexistent: money to Planned Parenthood is "your tax dollars for abortions!" and they love making the same claim about "illegals" getting "free health care".

I understand what you're saying. But my husband already can't afford healthcare for his kid (who is trans) and we have insurance, so I'm personally going to continue to advocate for M4A and fight to make it trans-inclusive

It's the same with abortion. Like, yes, we are living at the whim of lawmakers, but rn despite there being private health insurance, millions of poor people cannot access their right to an abortion. We need M4A for access to be a *possibility*

Yeah the US attitude that what you get prescribed is between you and your physician is an important foundation of our genuinely better-than-average reproductive rights too. Single payer risks breaking that.
