If you know you have to leave in three months, then whether you tell them becomes an issue I knew someone who got accepted to law school and kept it from his boss to try to stay employed for three months, only for his boss to see it on Facebook and terminate him immediately

(That was definitely a stupid fucking move - don't post it to Facebook then you idiot But there was definitely some measure of spite involved in that, since his job wasn't that easy to replace)

I 100% have friends whose bosses world fire people instantly when they gave notice. My last job, a coworker gave a month and a half notice and was fired on the spot. (It was a one year position and his notice was leaving partway through the year bc of friction with his boss)

Yeesh, well, never underestimate the capacity of some bosses to shoot themselves in the foot Even the guy I knew who leaked his law school admission via Facebook wasn't literally fired immediately, just told "You're out by the end of the week"
