That reason is not always a good reason, a lot of the time it's a bad reason, but before you change it you have to at least know what it is Our "overuse" of plastic happened in order to solve a problem (food spoilage) that was legitimately a big problem

That doesn't mean the plastic is not a problem but it does mean you can't just say "Well let's just go back to the way we did things before it was invented" like that's a solution
