In all the chaos nobody's even talking about the fact that Bloomberg, Biden and Sanders would all, if they became President in 2021, instantly be the oldest President we've ever hadhttps://twitter.com/michaelianblack/status/1230124306568445952 …

Not really Life expectancy has increased greatly over the years, but even so, we've only had four presidents die of natural causes, and the oldest of them was 68 (William Henry Harrison)

It's never been normal to elect Presidents who were old enough that their death by natural causes was expected, and all the times a President died of illness in office it turned into a whole big scandal

Harrison died of pneumonia (infamously attributed to him insisting on giving a two hour inaugural address without a coat) People took this as vindicating their criticisms that, at 68, he was too old for the job, and he remained the oldest President at election until Reagan

Zachary Taylor died of dysentery at 65 and immediately launched a slew of conspiracy theories about him being assassinated (although now people mostly think it was food poisoning due to horrible sanitation in DC at the time)

Similarly Harding's death from a mysterious flu at 57 shocked the nation and his widow went into full on paranoia mode and hired an eccentric private detective to spend years researching if he was murdered by his doctors

(Most likely his "flu" was, in fact, him having a series of lowkey heart attacks that never received proper treatment because he was touring the country at the time, which is why monitoring cardiovascular health is a big deal)

FDR died of an aneurysm at 65 and it was revealed his doctors had been covering up how bad his health was for years to keep morale up during the war (though his cardiovascular problems were nothing unusual for a chainsmoker and wheelchair user with little chance to exercise)
