I think the shocking and uncomfortable thing about Bojack's ending is it really truly does push you into a place where it feels like suicide is his only way out, where you totally get why he'd do it at that point And then smacks you in the face with "The View From Halfway Down"

This is a strong argument for why belief in an afterlife is irresponsible and an argument for why, cruel as it is, the Christians kind of had to say suicide sends you to hell once they invented heaven and kept talking it up

This absolutely happens, but there are also a lot of people who give it a shot and are super mad and disappointed when they wake up in the ER. Like, if this thought helps someone I'm glad for that, but I'm not sure "you might be terrified for a few seconds" is the best reason
