After all the trolley problem here isn't life for life, it's life for pleasure Even if it's life for health the comparison is far from equal (like if you're malnourished and likely to die earlier on a vegan diet, the animals that die to feed you over your life swamp that)

And even if you favor humans over animals absolutely (which would be pretty extreme tbh) there is quite a human cost to the industry as it stands. But really it doesn't even have to be a trolley problem.

If you just look at things as they are now it's a slam dunk because factory farming, as it is done, is so obviously catastrophic in so many different ways.

People like to find /a/ way to justify animal products in the abstract but you should only need buy into one of the like 5 ways factory farming is unacceptable in practice to oppose it.
