So the series was announced before I saw the movie and I automatically recoiled, but after seeing the movie I'm kind of into it. Because the themes are universal, but the nuances of the story are so culturally specific. I feel like there could be 10 remakes worldwide.

There's a lot about Chronicle that doesn't really make sense outside a US setting, like the humiliating way we treat people who are living off of SSD benefits

Much like Breaking Bad, Andrew's life in Chronicle wouldn't make sense in a country that didn't treat the poor and sick monstrously (Where his mom's chemo was fully covered by the state, and where his dad wasn't in a welfare trap where he's literally not allowed to get a job)
