Ok so Birds of Prey uses brief footage from Suicide Squad, but it's definitely out of continuity with it. What's up with that?

(i say definitely because Huntress is a lady with a crossbow and not some kind of absurd death goddess)

Also, it's really hard for me to not be like "why doesn't Black Canary ask her sister with the time spaceship for help"

This Black Canary is in fact an alternate version of the girl who once boned Oliver Queen while listening to Radioactive, right? I can't see this one doing that

you do know that the CWverse established itself as an alt timeline to the movie WB verse right?

I am not clear that there is one DC movie timeline? Like did this and Suicide Squad happen in the BvS DoJ universe?

Technically Suicide Squad, Man or Steel, Dawn of Justice, Justice League, Wonder Woman, Shazam, Aquaman, and Birds of Prey all exist in the same cinematic universe

Technically the Tim Burton Batman movies exist in the same universe as the Joel Schumacher ones

yeah there's a sliding scale of continuity, like Aquaman makes little to no use of its connections but Shazam HAS to co-exist with the League to work & Birds of Prey is building off of what was established about Harley in Suicide Squad

Shazam! absolutely has to take place in a universe where the League exists but it coexists very awkwardly with the actual events of the Snyder movies Like Freddie must just overlook all the controversy and scandal surrounding Superman's career because he's a kid fanboy

I mean whatever, after the unusually tight ship that was the MCU feature films we're probably better off getting used to "loose" continuity again

Replying to @arthur_affect @Kthranos and
Yeah and I mean a sliding scale of how much the continuity actually impacts things is pretty true to the comics
