This is how tweets go astray. I don't care that Philip Scofield is gay. I was criticizing the lack of self awareness. I was also making broad generalizations about marriages that fail. And yeah, kinda. They are happier post divorce. They can meet their own personal needs.

I'm the child of parents who felt an overwhelming sense of religious duty to stay together for their children's sake and it's by far the worst thing that's ever happened to me

How do you know? You didn't experience the alternative. I did. A nasty divorce at 6 yo. Not growing up with my siblings. Coming home to an empty house. Living with a father consumed by anger and grief. Destroyed economically. Loss of friends. You don't know me. Don't speculate.

I'm sorry to hear that. My parents divorced when I was 4, my mother died when I was 10, and my father let me be sent away to live with relatives. We've all got stories. Perhaps realize that there are lots of ways to have a shitty childhood, and lots of people who've suffered.

See I appreciate that. Coming at it from that angle is much more appreciated than someone barrelling through my tweets like a bull in a China shop. Clearly, some Liberals don't know how to engage in a civil dialogue. Thank you for sharing your story. I'm sorry for you loss.

I'm not going to pretend I didn't rewrite that a couple of times. You were seriously pissing me off, too.

It's not fun being attacked.

No, it's not. So why did you attack this person you didn't know, whose circumstances you knew little or nothing about, because he remained in a marriage for 27 years, raised children to adulthood, but finally had to be true to himself? I don't get it.

This was the first comment of yours that I saw. It looked pretty harsh to me.pic.twitter.com/73BgBeBWRA

It's amazing that people like this, with this much confidence to speak about other people's lives, are so quick to diagnose "narcissism" in others
