He *should* be playing a neurotic, awkward, sensitive nerd in a romantic comedy and/or family drama It's the ways in which he's an awkward fit for the Jason character that make Jason more likeable than he would be, kind of like Neil Patrick Harris on HIMYM

If people know what they're doing they'll cast him as something totally different from Jason next time Something where he gets to be the emotionally conflicted main character I dunno, a family that loses everything where he's the one son who has to keep them together

I feel the same way to a degree about Jameela Jamil, like I want to see her do an anti-Tahani kind of character Like I want to see her version of Natasha Lyonne in Russian Doll With an American accent

What Manny did as Jason was very, very, very hard. A truly gifted comic actor.

To make Jason be so very, very not smart but without making you want to punch him in the face requires something pitch perfect, and Manny nailed it.

The thing about him doing objectively horrible things and yet you never feel like he means any malice in it, it's a balancing act

Intelligence and perceptiveness just oozes out of him when he's not in character; it's a hell of a feat to just be able to...turn that off

Lisa Kudrow, because she was in the penultimate episode, reminds you that you have to be pretty smart to play that kind of character. I, too, look forward to what the cast do next.

These characters were the best in non stereotypical type casting
