Trillian seems not too bothered about earth's destruction, probably why they added some character beats in the film, to make her, you know, human.
They're all a little terrible tbh. I see what you mean

Yeah and he downgrades Ford's relationship to Arthur every time he comes back to it, like in the game Ford just came to Arthur's house to return his towel before abandoning Earth and Arthur looks so pathetic he impulsively decides to take him with him

Oof, nice. This is like a 6 year long friendship too btw. There's people I've known for less time than that who I'd not want to see vanish along with the whole planet.

Well yeah the fact that he doesn't try to warn the government or anything because who gives a shit As he helpfully tells Arthur as part of his pep talk, little undeveloped planets like this get blown up all the time

I do think it's just because we're used to it that we don't feel the whole impact of HHGG's basic premise, that the whole idea is the whole world has been killed and the whole human race murdered and Arthur is thrust into a strange new universe where literally nobody gives a shit

Ford is a researcher for the book, for which he spends 15 years on earth only to submit the entry "mostly harmless". I'd say you're pretty spot on there ;)

Well, admittedly, that's not completely his fault. It's brought up a few times that he wrote a really long article that went into a lot of (apparently not very accurate) detail. But it was the editors who first decided that "harmless" was the article and added the "mostly" later.

Yeah it was deleted for lack of notability
