I read earlier someone arguing that Kobe Bryant couldn’t be a rapist because he wasn’t convicted. Literally that was the defense.

Yes. People are innocent until proven guilty. The charges were dropped.

Except people can be rapists and not be convicted. The argument that someone isn’t or can’t be a rapist because they didn’t go to jail is a harmful argument to make.

Also not trying to ruin anyone’s life. It’s something worth discussing and mentioning. The only thing I was pointing out was the argument someone wasn’t convicted doesn’t work and that’s what the other person’s entire defense was

The charges are dropped because the accuser refused to testify because she'd had her identity revealed on TV and was receiving nonstop harassment and threats from his fans
