Trolley problems are exceedingly uncommon in the wild. If someone is going out of their way to use them to justify something, and everyone on the track you pull the lever to hit happens to be a minority, that person is just being a bigot & using "pragmatism" or whatever as cover

It doesn’t actually do that though. I’ve only ever seen people use it to lay the groundwork for their horrible proposals like denying ER care to people who don’t wear helmets.

(I have spent time worrying that modern technological civilization/climate change actually is a multi-billion-person trolley problem, with everyone living in the rich countries as the "one person" track and everyone else as the "five people" track. Probably not helpful)
