And what the hell does that have to do with a driver being an asshole to a disabled woman?

Both. Things. Can. Be. True. Driver = Asshole Uber = Libertarian wet dream putting risk on poor people Taxi Companies = Discriminatory Solution =/= Financing your own replacement with robots

Lyft isn't quite as evil as Uber. Poor people have limited choices, if your only choice is Uber than by all means don't walk the 20 miles. If you have a choice, cut into Travis Kalanick's profits and take alternate transportation. No so hard when you aren't being pedantic.

yeah, poor people have limited choices so maybe don't declare that having limited choices means you're "funding your own oppression"

Both things can be true. That's one of the objectives of limiting poor people's choices. Starve, or shop at Walmart? Easy choice to make in the real world, but not without consequences. If you can shop at family or local food stores (if you even have one) do so, if not Walmart.

Hey poor people: Uber is fucking you. Try to avoid using them.

I think it's fair to say that more than the average person, people with a disability that severely limits their mobility are highly aware of the choices available to them and the pros and cons of each

The whole point of the concept of "disability" is pointing out that for many people something that you or I might register as an inconvenience, like having to wait at a bus stop or walk half a mile, is very difficult or impossible
