Throw away Joe Rogan, because I'm out of any coalition he's in

That's it? Even though everyone else also tried to get his buy in? This seems incredibly shortsighted to me. It'd be preferable to you to leave his listeners disenfranchised and on the table for Trump? Nothing has changed on Bernie's end, so I really don't understand this issue

This is exactly what I mean - you treat seeking Rogan's endorsement as a purely rational act because you think his viewers' votes are up for grabs and other people's aren't If you were actually afraid people like me would stay home in November you wouldn't talk like this

Yeah sure if all the Democrats shit on Rogan that would leave his voters "disenfranchised" Like I don't feel pretty fucking disenfranchised right now

Well, their votes ARE up for grabs, that's pretty well known. That isn't to say they're the only ones. I don't understand why this makes you feel disenfranchised, or are you saying you felt that way to begin with?

It's not fucking rocket science dude You chase swing voters long enough, your base feels ignored, they start losing enthusiasm and jumping ship This is poli sci 101, it's why elections are more complicated than just chasing the exact center

Republicans have won elections for years deliberately going hardcore right wing because "turning out the base" was a more effective strategy than chasing the Ken Bones of the world

I hear you, I'm part of the same base that you are. I just don't see what's changed with this endorsement. Bernie didn't change at all, he's still the same guy. If he compromises a core part of his message to appeal to a group of assholes, then it'll make more sense to me

I don't think you are part of the same base I am, is the thing

Sanders' whole brand is anti-"divisive identity politics" and I am ride-or-die for divisive identity politics

Lol, okay. Well then that was my mistake. I thought we shared the same values, but I guess I was wrong. I can't imagine how hard national elections have to be for you.

I have been very open that my politics consists entirely of supporting various "special interests" as individual power brokering groups in coalition and that I despise all forms of populism that denigrate "special interests" in favor of a "99%" majority
