Having solidarity with all workers AND having dignity and respect at your workplace or while consuming services are not exclusive ideas. People can be held accountable for their individual actions without the need to ruin their lives in the process. That's all we're saying.

I mean... How? What possible method do I have of "holding someone accountable" that doesn't risk getting them fired? Since apparently them getting fired is still my fault even if I said that wasn't the outcome I wanted?

I can't call their manager or they might get fired, I can't name and shame them on Twitter or they might get fired, I can't even make a big stink in the moment and yell at them in the store or the manager might hear them and fire them

It's the Jordan Peterson approach. "This is definitely a real problem that exists, and it needs solving, but literally every method of solving it, even the mere idea of solving it, is bad and wrong."

The right thing to do as a worker among fellow workers is slowly and incrementally change attitudes by setting a good example, it's never to cause conflict or get people fired Real radical shit

I think the writer obscured exactly what industry they worked in but the idea was they got applications for some kind of service and they were routinely throwing people with ethnic sounding names in the reject pile It wasn't a minor thing at all
