My friend, who is blind with a service dog, and I took our first @uber together tonight. The driver on the ride home refused us. Both of us working in accessibility are well versed in the ADA. We told him it was illegal, I read Uber's policy to him, and still he left us. 1/6

it's against some religions to touch a dog believing that they are unclean. Maybe this was the case.

Just like you are required to have a driver's license to Uber, you are required to allow service dogs. If you cannot allow service dogs, you cannot drive for Uber.

It's part of the settlement between Uber and the National Federation of the Blind that the NFB hires "testers" to hail rides with their service animals, without telling anyone ahead of time, for the specific purpose of reporting any drivers who refuse them to get them terminated

That's part of the legal circumstances Uber agreed to in order to continue operating after the lawsuit You can dislike it all you want but all of the regular riders complaining about this have been more than reasonable compared to what their actual responsibilities are
