There's also a big pool of customers, young people these days who can't afford a car, can't afford to live conveniently to transit, have precarious gig based lifestyles where they don't have a regular workplace nor get to know their neighbors The economy makes them vulnerable

Uber could do a lot to fix this problem, but they haven't, not until they've been threatened with lawsuits, and then slowly and recalcitrantly This problem would instantly become much smaller in a non-Uber business with real employees

If you agree to pick someone up and drive them somewhere, for money or not, and you just bail on them without extenuating circumstances, you’re an asshole. If you do the above because the person turns out to be disabled, you’re literally a Saturday morning cartoon villain.
