People do understand that if Uber became a real cab company that treated drivers like employees a lot of people would get fired by Uber, right And I am 100% in favor of this happening but I'm not sure they are

As with other things, it'd be a question of accommodations that could be made for both the customers and the employees. But it hasn't been the issue, nor have I seen it raised in any other context about service animals.

Nah this is a public accommodations issue If I and a coworker are incompatible because I have a religious objection to their service animal, and we both work in the back office, I can request we be physically separated This does not apply to members of the public

IIRC you cannot refuse a service dog on religious grounds anyway, I believe this is both ADA and Uber policy but don't quote me on it

Not for service animals, no

So I'm the one that raised this hypothetical, so I looked it up - long story short, it's complicated and may actually be an issue.https://twitter.com/creatrixtiara/status/1220532263433035781?s=19 …

CS had a driver named Mohamed this week who I will make the assumption is a Muslim - when he arrived, he told them he was “very, very afraid of dogs”...and so asked them to hold on to Dovi’s collar during the ride. (I am also assuming some of what he called “fear” is cultural)
