I am not going to back down on this Absolutely nothing about how poor or desperate that driver was was a valid reason to do what he did and I am not particularly sad he got fired

It should be the case BOTH that Uber should be held accountable, AND any driver with a modicum of decency should accommodate the disabled without the expectation that they're a "special case" that requires "special training".

It is societal ableism that has trained us to treat the disabled as an "extra burden" rather than "us"
