Hey, the issue is the lack of worker training and accountability, not service dogs. Service dogs are extremely well trained and well groomed. They won't ruin anyone's car. Also, disclosing your disability to strangers like that can put people in danger.

Human beings have "bladder issues," shit themselves, vomit, shower dandruff on the seats, leave hair everywhere, wear too much cologne, impregnate the entire car with the stench of B.O., have medical emergencies, and otherwise befoul cars on the daily. How is a dog WORSE?

The percentage of dog owners in the population is high enough that someone with genuinely debilitating allergies to dogs isn't safe to have a public driving job *at all*, because you can't tell if someone has dog hair or dander on their clothing when you pick them up

Which sucks a lot for people with debilitating allergies but is not a justification for singling out disabled people with service animals like they're somehow the problem

So fuck people with severe allergies (drivers AND subsequent passengers) - they can find alternate employment and transportation. Do you hear yourself? There needs to be reasonable accommodation for all.

Pet dander is everywhere, not just in cars. People who have severe allergies do actually take steps to exist in public spaces. You cannot argue against ADA just because you don't want to bother protecting yourself.https://dogtime.com/lifestyle/56357-can-die-dog-allergy …

You literally have no idea what you're talking about, as shown by posting an article from "dogtime" It's sad that you trip over yourself to protect people with disabilities ~the right thing to do~ but say the equivalent of "suck it up" to people with severe health issues.

And I've certainly not argued against the ADA, I've stated that Uber has a responsibility to deal with the accessibility issue while also accommodating people with health issues. But carry on.

Title III of the ADA explicitly says that people with service animals have an absolute right to all public spaces and public services Accommodation for allergies is secondary to this Sorry if you disagree but that's not my interpretation of the law, that is the law

And my only point has been that Uber, et al, could step in & make accommodations for people with bad allergies by setting aside a small-ish percentage of their fleet for severe allergy sufferers.
