The company, yes, could have trained the guy better in the sense of telling him "You really do legally have to pick up disabled people" But the act of picking up disabled people does not actually require training of any kind You just have to not be an asshole

She had a blanket for the dog to sit on, and he was aware she had a service dog before he showed up. It's possible that he wasn't cut out for the giving-people-rides line of work.

Exactly. It's no different than if he'd refused to give a ride to a Black person or a Muslim Bigotry can cost you your job and if someone's idea of "worker solidarity" says that's a BAD thing they're making it very clear who doesn't matter to them

Absolutely. I get if his sedan was in the shop and he got a 2-seater convertible loaner or something, but to agree to it and then just say "um, no" when he shows up is some shit.
