What color/style lightsaber would you choose, given a choice? If I have to be canon consistent (color appeared in current canon), white fencing saber (like Dooku's in shape) If I can pick any color, fencing style but magenta

My favourite colour is red, which is thoroughly claimed by the sith. So I go purple. As for style... just a standard one. I would probably never use it, I see myself as more the scholar or counsellor type.

In fact if there's a nonlethal option, I'll take that instead. Can my lightsaber have a stun setting?

Yes, Ezra's first saber was stun only. Frequently used for practice duels between padawans

Presumably, much like "stun" weapons in real life, whether it successfully stuns the person, causes great pain and enrages them but leaves them dangerously unstunned, or outright kills them is a complex matter of body weight, metabolism and species

I dunno, the blue ring shot from New Hope seemed to knock Leia out instantly without harm. I want that.

Leia surviving that without ill effects was human normative privilege

Seriously though, the whole "useless armor" thing with stormtroopers makes a bit more sense if you assume that it *does* block most things, including stun shots, and thus forces everyone to fight with blasters on full power

Or just assume that it is to save troops from bumps and scrapes, with NBC sealing and some shrapnel protection.

that one trooper who hit his helmet on the door was presumably quite glad he had it (notwithstanding that he probably wouldn't have hit it at all if he'd had a helmet with better visibility)
