That's the whole thing, they got surprisingly little blowback from the people in the movies they were mocking, because everyone involved knew they were made badly on a shoestring budget as shovelware

I believe the original pitch was a video of them riffing on “The Godfather.” The only reason they did those old b-movies was because it was so much cheaper to license. The idea of “lampooning bad movies” was never the goal.

Sure, but I've seen Frank Conniff and Trace Beaulieu's act and they both say they're against riffing on good movies
