Did you read Jason Schreier's Blood, Sweat, & Pixels? There was a whole chapter on the various Star Wars games developed internally 2005-12. I wonder if the Underworld show was what convinced him to sell to Disney. He realized the logistics were going to be a nightmare.

No but I've heard it's very good. And I'm pretty sure it was. Less because of the logistics directly and more because he couldn't sell the damn thing to any network.

He basically wanted each episode to be budgeted like a movie on a dollar per minute basis, was going to have Williams score the whole thing, and it was going to be serialized from start to finish. Even with the Star Wars name no network would touch it.

I feel like a lot of Star Wars material ends up being a couple of decades too early or too late. The prequels with modern CGI wouldn't be half as jarring to watch, and the Mandalorian's flaws would be papered over nicely if it was a mid-90's release.

Even the jump from Attack of the Clones to Revenge makes a big difference. In the former, the CGI looks really bad on modern TVs. But in the latter it holds up pretty decently.

I always thought TPM being shot on film made a big difference. The live action stuff looks pretty good. Everything in II & III has a weirdly brittle quality.

I think TPM looks the best of the prequels because there are actual, like, sets and practical effects. I know AotC and RotS have them is well but everything feels so fake and CGI.

I'm kind of shocked to find out that Palpatine's office in AotC was a full set, b/c honestly it looks like wallpaper in the movie.

The crazy thing I learned a while back is that the Naboo cruisers are real models, and they're completely covered in CGI to get the reflections right.

It is genuinely weird that so many people complain about the CGI in the prequels but seem to think that the sequels were made using mostly practical techniques. TRoS is loaded w/CGI. And a lot of it doesn't look good. The final battle is a giant mess compared to RotJ.

Exegol feels *incredibly* CGI, nothing like a real place at all Which isn't necessarily bad, it's supposed to feel like a surreal nightmare It's just a very clichéd nightmare

What's holding up the big thingy? Why Exegol? Why not Malachor? The whole mess feels like JJ saying "I want MY planet with MY villain in MY movie!" and not giving a shit about anything else.

Were the Sith audience/crowd meant to be actual, still living, beings? Because I was going with surreal nightmare and interpreted them as the legion of sith ghosts residing in Palps but most people I've seen talk about them as though they're real
