It's hard to even make this joke because Johnson just doesn't do this mostly I guess his version of TRoS would've suddenly introduced another Rebel pilot who was also played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt

"This isn't a fair comparison, Abrams' career has been a lot more extensive than Johnson's" No see the fact that it's been so long since Alias makes it more egregious that Greg Grunberg is randomly here not less

I'm randomly reminded of an interview I saw with Alfonso Ribeiro after Dancing with the Stars asking if he ever resented not rising up with Will Smith into stardom after their sitcom ended And he said while life afterwards was often tough he never wanted to be in a posse

And Will Smith knew that if he wanted to be fully taken seriously for his talent he couldn't be seen as having a posse That Black celebrities constantly get stereotyped as having parasitic friends who "go way back" and get positions based on nepotism rather than merit

"I love Will, I love his success, and I know he wouldn't have risen as high if he let people make him feel like he owed them jobs just because he goes way back with them, if he was making decisions for any reason other than who's the best person for this job right now"

I just bring this up because successful white people DO do this, they don't second guess themselves over whether they'll be seen as unprofessional or low-class when they do it, they do it without even thinking about the fact that they do it

"Hey can I be in Star Wars as the guy who explains what's happening on the radar screen I know it's one of the biggest movie franchises in the world and you've already got two or three characters that do that" "Nah buddy I gotchu, here's your orange Rebel suit"

"Anything for my Hobbit friend 'YOU ALL, EVERYBODY!'" "YOU ALL, EVERYBODY!" *JJ Abrams' permanent ongoing house party breaks out into joyous self-referential song*

He did throw in Noah Sagan.

Fair enough, although the fact that I didn't really notice is points in TLJ's favor
