You did notice Ochi the Jedi Hunter appears to be of her species, right?

I barely remember what Ochi looked like. (Why are there flashbacks?) Abrams is not good with visuals. In Star Wars even minor characters/ships should be memorable, and TRoS has nothing like that. Neither does TLJ though it looks 100x better than either of the other sequels.

There were, but it wasn't well shot enough to let you see much IIRC.

Struck by the LotR influences in TRoS. The Wayfinder hisses and whispers like the Ring. The random flashbacks are very Peter Jackson. It feels like the movie was cut down from a lot of material, some of which was never finished.

Apparently it should have been two movies but mean ol' George wouldn't let them do it that way and that's why it wasn't good.

George doesn't really have any say in these things. I noticed he skipped out on the premiere, too. Probably headed over to the Panda Express in the San Anselmo mall before closing time.

Apparently his statement that it was ending in nine movies forced them to cram too much into TRoS. With all the blatant retcons in there it's obvious that Chris Terrio is salty that TLJ exists and he didn't get to do it.

It really does feel like a) they wanted to ignore TLJ completely b) two movies' worth of material crammed into one Still not sure why TRoS had to be under 3 hrs. AotC was pushing the 2 ½ barrier in 2002.

It has to do with screenings per day, and TBH probably didn't apply to this movie in the way it normally would for others.

Not in this day and age. Endgame was three hours even and it made nearly 3 billion worldwide. SPD was a big deal in the '80s and '90s but now the chains will just book the movies in multiple theaters w/around the clock showtimes.

Disney had to lean HARD on theaters to get them to do all the screenings they wanted for Endgame and I'm sorry to say it but the final Phase 3 MCU movie absolutely has more clout than the final Star Wars sequel nowadays
