Unfortunately, the end of the movie strongly implies that they end up together, and according to the most recent film they had a kid even if the marriage didn't last. (So, a lot like Han, basically.)

Replying to @NussbaumAbigail @BootlegGirl
Crystal Skull says they were *going* to get married but then Indy ghosted her a week before the wedding due to his commitment issues, unaware that she was already pregnant She then married another dude (with the last name Williams) so Henry wouldn't grow up a bastard

The stepfather dies in WWII and young Henry ends up a troubled fatherless child anyway and takes on the nickname "Mutt" etc There are parallels to the Star Wars story but Mutt clearly has a much more valid grievance against Indy

Anyway Crystal Skull ends with Indy finally actually marrying Marion and being there for his son, though we'll see if that sticks when they do the sequel

Harrison Ford actually said he was looking forward to doing an Indiana Jones movie where Indy isn't a lone hero with no family for once, circling back to the family themes with Holy Grail But then they officially confirmed Mutt isn't coming back so I dunno

Shia's had a pretty decent year overall, but the problem is that Mutt has Jar Jar levels of unpopularity. When would a fifth movie be set, anyway? 1970? Would Indy be in Vietnam this time?

Yeah nobody seems to have any solid information whatsoever on this movie other than the fact that it's happening because Disney's shareholders demand an ROI on all of the four billion they spent buying out Lucasfilm

I'd heard for a long time that there were plans to reboot the franchise, either as a period piece or a modern thing with Henry Jones IV. Chris Pratt was rumored for the role at one point, back before it looked like he was going to retire and go into politics.

Yeah that sounds like it was just bullshit, Pratt denied ever even having been approached

Yeah, I assume they want to do it with Ford, b/c honestly there's just not much to the character or the series beyond his persona. It's not a really continuity-heavy series like Star Wars. Only three recurring characters.

They've said outright I think that they're going to do an Indiana Jones 5 and that will be it, a swan song for the character in his old age
