Seriously Rey is gonna be super powerful now specifically because she's a Force dyad combined into one body and shit

Is that how that even works? Do we know at all what a "dyad" is and if it confers more power?

I know some film schools used to teach "dyad theory" to analyze how much two characters interact and thus judge the strength of their dyad. So maybe it's super meta :p

Yeah and the "dyadic model" of psychotherapy (taken for granted by most people but challenged by some) is that getting better fundamentally requires interacting with another human being one-on-one Which you can apply to Kylo and Rey's character development as you will

I dunno, the whole thing might make a bit more sense to me if it were a written medium and you could convey the idea that they're subtly in communication with each other all the time and can't turn it off all the way and it's affecting their personality

There is philosophical stuff about the word "dyad" as used in ancient Greece that kinda sorta applies here Especially with the juxtaposition between two and one, with Palpatine saying "By the power of Two, the One True Sith is Reborn"

The big thing in Greek philosophy was the *Monad*, the One The idea that the entire universe is, in some sense, all just one thing, one coherent concept, the mind of God, etc

"The Dyad" is Creation, it's the big explosive moment when One somehow becomes divided into Two, which is necessary to precede the full plurality of the universe In Gnosticism it's the separation of the Demiurge from Sophia

So yeah, handwavily, a Dyad in the Force is just... something too big to fit into one identity or one soul, that was supposed to be one whole but ended up being two instead, and can only function when the two act as a pair
