One choice they made in Cells at Work was showing the Red Blood Cells as the general "delivery people" of the body, bringing in O2 and removing CO2, delivering sugar from the stomach, etc You can see why they did it but it's a missed opportunity to look at some cool biology imo

It's interesting to imagine an alternate cells at work where the bloodstream is a set of rivers and most things float by unattended for the cells by the riverside to pick up but the anthropomorphic red blood cells are hazmat crew managing boats carrying O2 and CO2

the cells just throw in their packages of CO2 waste and the red blood cells have to pick up as much as they can onto the hazmat boats, they float by the lungs and get rid of as much of it as possible and have to manage the massive amount of O2 that just got dumped into the water
