I think the explanation by Abrams that he was going to tell her he’s force sensitive also works for that scene.

works better than "everyone knows Rey's a Palpatine except Rey," imo there's no way on earth Finn would keep that secret

They don't really show enough anti-stormtrooper prejudice onscreen to justify it even though they keep talking about it But I would've thought Leia would've confided that to Finn because he's the one who knows about being prejudged for bad guy associations

oh, yeah, I just mean that FINN wouldn't keep that from Rey, I think the Force thing is personal and he's uncertain about sharing it. "Here's a big secret about Rey but don't tell her" is not something I see him agreeing to

Well I mean how do you tactfully broach the topic to a friend when you think they might be a Hitler

On that note, consider: If the new trilogy had run with the weird novel/prequel convention where Darth is unambiguous a title and not a newly chosen first name, to always be followed by something bad without the starting in- then Kylo Ren would have been Darth Cel.

"Always an English word minus in-" is a Jenny Nicholson joke, it's not actually generally true for either the movies or the EU It's just that the two most famous Sith, Darth Vader and Darth Sidious, happen to follow it (but Darth Maul, Darth Tyranus and Darth Plagueis don't)

In the Legends books Jacen Solo, the most direct analogue for Kylo Ren, got the Sith name "Darth Caedus" as the result of a fan poll (A dog-Latin misspelling of "caedes", Latin for "cutting" or "killing")
