I used to have this Obi wan micro machine guy who absolutely had an Amber saber but it was probably originally white and just yellowed with age

On the old (1977) Kenner figure, Luke's saber was yellow, so maybe Rey's is a callback to that? Note that the saber is actually *part* of Luke's hand, so there's kind of a Cronenberg thing going onpic.twitter.com/6vgqkBWTrz

I just don't get why she doesn't reforge the Skywalker saber, if she had to do that, with her preferred color. It's both established new-canon of a high level and common sense that if you rebuild a saber you make the crystal the color you want

The whole burying thing makes no sense either. Eventually some Jawas with metal detectors are going to find them eventually. Kinda feel like TRoS should end on Naboo, anyway.

I guess they were going with "all the trilogies end with twin suns," as if that was true of any trilogy other than the prequels prior to this

Kinda feels like the tattooine homestead would be more compelling if everything was more unintended? Like if Luke really was just some random farm boy and Rey was just some random scavenger instead of all being a comical web of destiny

Yeah this would actually be a cool moment if it weren't loaded with so much literal significance It's Rey going back to a place very much like the one she grew up in, but not quite the same A childhood home and a family that she never actually had

Seems like at this point someone would've moved into the Lars Homestead. I mean, it's a pretty nice patch of land for, I guess, moisture farming or whatever the hell that is

No, Tatooine's economy completely collapsed after the death of Jabba and the end of the spice trade I'm afraid Those farms were being propped up by subsidies and money laundering

I always assumed Tatooine was a "look at all this beautiful inhospitable desert real estate" development scheme that never quite panned out, like much of Arizona

That line from King of the Hill about Phoenix "This city is a monument to the arrogance of mankind"
