Hell, in the original movies they end up subverting how important a lightsaber is - it's just a weapon and weapons just get you into trouble Luke's big moment in the ending is throwing his away

AotC pretty much established that light sabers were glorified Bic lighters. Anakin's saber was revealed to be not a weapon he'd crafted himself, but a spare a random extra tossed to him as a replacement.

Well he built another lightsaber in between 2 and 3. So technically the lightsaber Rey uses should be called "Anakin Skywalker's third lightsaber." Easy to miss since of his sabers only the red one looks substantially different

Was the replacement saber in II blue or green? I can never remember. But yeah, I get hung up on weird aesthetic details. Never liked the Weyland-Yutani logo from Aliens when the original one was way cooler.

Anakin only ever used blue and red sabers. The only characters to use green sabers in the films are Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Luke, and Obi-Wan only briefly when he picks up Qui-Gon's

Ah yes, true. Which led to the brief headcanon among many fans that green sabers signified either being a Master or being more of a "force centric" as opposed to tank-type Jedi, but that's obvs gone out the window with Master Luke sticking to blue and Rey going orange

Well, no, Luke has a green lightsaber the whole time he's a Jedi Master
