Studying calligraphy can actually help with this, since the thing with calligraphy is it shows you how the characters are supposed to be written (just like fancy handwriting in English does)

It's possibly easier to learn how to write by reading characters in a calligraphic font that shows the direction the brush was moving on the paper and stuff than reading them as block printed characters, some old school teachers insist on it
