Aside from his sudden shift in mannerisms as he "becomes a main character," yeah, and even that is basically explained as his Force awareness given him the strength to do what he knows is right.

A whole platoon just snapped out of it. The force hasn't ever just made moral decisions for people, but it might allow some kind of programming to wear off.

But I've had this impression since TFA so it has to be because Finn is so unbroken and childish. It's like this is who he was as a child and it's been repressed. Buried. Now free.
