I liked that Mirror Bashir was quite dim and uncouth, foreshadowing the genetic engineering twist in the main universe.

This is perfect and blatantly set up and still somehow the opposite of actual Mirror Bashir. I mean, there's some pretty interesting (or futile and boring) stuff underlying the whole idea when it's interrogated. Like, there aren't really "opposites"

Mirror Garak is a Cardassian culture hero, a scion of the nobility, a great poet and orator, a pacifist and idealist whose heart is slowly being broken by all the violence and cruelty he's exposed to

Keep Intendant Kira the same but make Mirror Garak really MIRROR Garak and not just Garak with no conscience He's the last Cardassian on the station because Kira took him as a prize after crushing the rebellion
