Resentment has a place, but after a certain point only burdens you, and must be let go. Forgiveness doesn’t just free the offender, it frees the offended.

Primarily frees the offended, as the offender is often oblivious to any resentment against them!!
Now the question is, how to let go?

I find empathy useful in this. When I can place myself in the shoes of another, to recognize the difficulty of their own journey and struggles, I find compassion. It can transmute that resentment into a lighter tone, freeing you from the emotional chains that bind you.
