I mean, you can't ignore it, but the topic is interesting nevertheless. Marcel Reich-Ranicki also says something similiar with regard to writing novels.

My perspective is that trials and suffering produce good art and philosophy. I see it in the collective and I see it in myself. It's not clear to me if you're saying 'no' to that analysis or something else.
I'd say yes if you put it that way. The relation is intricate.
