I’m watching The Vow and appreciating that regularly watching shows about cults helps to counteract my urge to start one.

My cult is definitely a nudist cult haha. But seriously, why do you think cults are about to make a comeback?

The 'cult' stereotype is pathological version of our natural desire to live simply, locally, and share a philosophy/lifestyle with others we love and trust. People crave it; they're talking about leaving the city. If progress allows it, I think people will try to re-tribalize.
Good point, much like that hyper-localized childhood community someone mentioned in the session today. Part of me also craves a simpler life where I’m less focussed on “everyone” and more focussed on people I actually know. I can see the temptation!
