Whenever I go for a run I feel as if I’m metabolizing anxiety. I feel less depressed afterwards.
The more depressed I am, the less likely I am to run. That is why having a practice is so important: to outsource decision-making, to counteract the snowballing downward spiral.

Agreed. My life took a very positive turn once I started running. I drift away, but whenever I return to it I’m reminded of its power and beauty.
